Few countries offer the enormous variety that India offers. This nation is bursting with different languages, traditions, customs, cuisines, people groups and cultures. It is full of extremes, and with everything in between. It is as vast as it is crowded, and as luxurious as it is poverty-stricken. Once experienced, India is never forgotten!
If you choose India as your Year For God location, you will find yourself in the foothills of the Himalaya mountains. There is one intake a year starting in February. You’d do your Discipleship Training School (DTS) lecture phase surrounded by stunning mountain views, and the DTS outreach in a nearby Asian country. After the DTS is the 6-month field placement, which takes place back in India. The different options for this would be teaching English in the local school, or conversation English classes with adults, cafe ministry, church ministry, children’s ministry or mercy ministries in a poor community. This involves food distribution, offering basic healthcare and teaching hygiene.
